Post GMM afterthoughts

This post is a bit overdue since GMM is already a month ago, but here's some afterthoughts about this year's edition.

• I'm not going to do that "checking_all_the_bands_out" ever again. I've discovered more bands that I don't like vs bands that really stand out. And those that piqued my interest were playing way to early, which meant (with these temperatures) that we didn't get to see them anyhow. Next year I'll probably just skim over the ones that fit into genres I know. The best performances I've seen, were those that weren't on my radar.
• Still bought too much skullies. Eating outside the festival drastically changed our spending. So yeah, next year, buy even less skullies. Fuck those stupid prices. I came across someone who said "If you're unhappy about the food prices, don't come to a festival." That's a backwards mindset, 20eur for a burger is stupid expensive no matter what.
• Top 3 bands that blew me away.
  #1 Gaerea. WAW. What a performance. Instantly made me buy each record I found of them around the festival fair.
  #2 Carpenter Brut. THE BEST PARTY OF THE WEEKEND.
  #3 King 810. Quite a memorable show. Wasn't on my list. It is now. Great.
• 1 band that sucked.
  Limp Bizkit? Wtf. No words. Speechless as to how they could fuck up their show so much. It's embarassing really.
• 1 rib that fractured in the moshpit.
  Lagwagon. Only 5 minutes in the pit. Crack. Done for the rest of the weekend. Not one of their better shows either, mediocre at best. Sadly, I think they should call it quits. I've seen them plenty-o-times, the stage energy's gone?

All in all - great weekend - temperature's too hot for a small tent though, so next year we'll bring a bigger tent. Next year's also another anniversary edition. So HUZZAH. 🥳
